Chisenupuri Snowcats (Hokkaido Backcountry Club)

Rankoshi town built the Chisenupuri ski area in 1977 and closed it in 2012, and Hokkaido Backcountry Club now runs snowcats up the old runs. The cat drops riders at 832 m. A typical run gives you about 280 m of vertical, and a full day averages around 3,360 m. Up to fourteen people ride in each cat.

Every run finishes at the same base, so this suits mixed groups and riders still learning powder. HBC sells the shared day as unguided riding with patrollers watching the terrain. A seat costs ¥175,000 for 2026/27 with lunch and transfers from Niseko, and shared days need six bookings to run. The Yukichichibu onsen ticket comes with the day, and that bath closes on Tuesdays. A private cat for up to fourteen lists at ¥2,100,000.
