Hanazono Powder Guides is the resort's own guiding desk, and it has led groups out of the Niseko United gates since the 2011/12 season. Most of its guides have lived in Niseko for more than a decade, and a few have been there over thirty years. A private tour costs ¥130,000 for up to four riders with free pickup anywhere in Niseko. The 7:30 First Tracks start needs booking by 4 pm the day before.
You need to hold a line on black runs and in deep trees, and a helmet is compulsory. Bring a powder board, because the booking notes warn that a cambered park deck will struggle. A fifth rider joins for ¥20,000 if everyone rates Level 4 on the resort's off-piste chart, and groups of five to seven add a tail guide for ¥60,000. Lift tickets are on you.
