Rising Sun splits its guiding between two homes. The Niseko crew works the range and Yotei and drives to Rusutsu and Kiroro when the snow is better there. A second team lives in Higashikawa and heads for the Daisetsuzan volcanoes when the weather allows. Owner Andrew Spragg is an ACMG ski guide. Trevor Husted holds AMGA splitboard guide certification, and two more crew members carry the splitboard guide title.
A private day costs ¥149,000 for one to three riders with door-to-door transport and a 6:1 ratio. Book in March and the price drops 15 percent. Splitboards are the preferred way up for boarders on these tours, and the company's own rental shop fits Spark R&D bindings to Salomon, Prior, Korua, Stranda and Burton decks. The AST 1 course runs over two days under Avalanche Canada for ¥39,000, and splitboarders are welcome on it.
