Hotel Three M

Three M is a plain business hotel one minute from JR Kutchan Station. It suits a rider on a budget who arrives by train and buses up to Hirafu each morning, and Kutchan's izakaya and ramen shops are all within walking distance at night.
Twenty-four of the 26 rooms were renovated in December 2019, and every room has its own bathroom. Ask for the second or fifth floor, because the third and fourth floors allow smoking. Check-in runs from 14:00 to midnight.
There's no breakfast. The free lounge has a microwave for whatever you pick up at the supermarket across the street. Official rates start at ¥9,500 for a single and ¥16,500 for a twin with tax included, and they move with the season. The nearest onsen is about 15 minutes away by car.
