La Vista Daisetsuzan sits in the small hot-spring hamlet at the end of the road below the Asahidake ropeway. It's built to feel like an old mountain lodge. Heavy timber doors open onto a lobby with a fire going, and Asahidake shows through the windows almost everywhere you walk.
There are 85 rooms over five floors, and the second-floor baths run on Asahidake Onsen water. The standard two-meal plan brings a creative French course built on Hokkaido produce.
Asahikawa is about an hour away by car, and the hotel runs a shuttle bus and rents ski wear. Kyoritsu's rule bars tattoos of any size from the public baths.
