Shirogane Onsen Morino Ryotei Biei

Morino Ryotei Biei has 17 rooms in sukiya style (timber architecture borrowed from tea houses). Five low buildings joined by covered corridors step down a slope of birch and spruce, and every room looks into the forest.
Twelve rooms have a private rotenburo. The five hanare (detached cottages) have their own entrances and a channel of spring water running past the door. Rooms in the main building use blue hiba tubs and have a small balcony for cooling off. The shared bath runs on the same free-flowing spring.
Dinner is a kaiseki course brought dish by dish to tables in the Mori no Bo dining room, and there's no in-room dining. Expect stairs everywhere, since the buildings follow the slope. Asahikawa Airport is about 40 minutes away and Furano about an hour.
