Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono
¥215,600 a night
Park Hyatt built its Niseko hotel at the bottom of Hanazono, and the ski valet lets you click in on the snow outside the door. The beginner area spreads out below the building. A family can split up after breakfast and regroup for lunch at the Hanazono 308 base building without anyone climbing onto a shuttle.
Standard rooms come in at about 65 square metres with a separate living room and a walk-in closet, and the Mount Yotei side is the one to ask for. The shared onsen runs on natural hot spring water, and the Park and Signature Suites each have a private onsen of their own. The hotel allows guests with tattoos in its baths. When your legs give out there's also a 25-metre indoor pool.
Robata grills seafood over open flame and Teppan cooks Japanese and French dishes on the hot plate. China Kitchen pulls noodles by hand for its Sichuan and Cantonese menu and does dim sum brunch at weekends. Kids get pizza classes at Olivio. When you want a bigger night, ask the concierge to book Molière Montagne or the Sushi Mitsukawa omakase counter in the Residences. A mountain-view king cost about ¥215,600 a night in January 2024, with a three-night minimum.
