Oasis Point sits in Higashikawa, close to Asahikawa Airport and on the road to Asahidake. It delivers free to the airport, the station and central hotels, and bedding comes with the van. Four of its five campers are 4WD, and the regular rate for an Atom II or ZIL is ¥23,000 for the first day, then ¥9,000 per twelve hours.
For winter, write and ask about tyres. Every van carries a Webasto FF heater that runs with the engine off, and the FAQ says the engine recharges the battery when it fades, so the vans go out in autumn and winter. Studless tyres aren't mentioned, and the staff say they rely on simple English and translation apps.
