Getting there
On Noboribetsu Onsen's main street with its own car park.
Sagiriyu is the locals' bath in the middle of Noboribetsu Onsen, and it costs about a fifth of a hotel day pass. It's a sento in the plain neighbourhood sense, and the regulars come in every day.
Two springs run side by side here, both straight from the source. One is milky sulphur water from the valley. The other is a clear alum spring the bathhouse calls me-no-yu, a name that means eye water. A hinoki sauna and a cold bath sit off to one side.
There's no outdoor bath. Come here when the hotel baths are packed with tour groups, or when you only have forty minutes before the bus.
