Asahikawa Santa Present Park

Asahikawa's floodlit hill sits 15 minutes from the station and runs until 21:00 with the city spread out below.
- Beginner3.6 km
Santa Present Park is the hill Asahikawa rides after work. It sits 15 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station, and the six runs stay lit until 21:00, so the city's lights fill the view on every chair ride after dark. The hill opened in 1969 as Sun Valley and took its Christmas name in 1995, and it has hosted the FIS Snowboard World Cup more than once.
Three double chairs cover 160 m of vertical, and the longest run is about a kilometre. Loading carpets at the chairs and a separate free kids' slope make it an easy place to teach children. The winter bus that serves it carries on to Kamui Ski Links, so you can ride Kamui by day and come here for the lights.
